Vegan statistics in San Luis Obispo
–It has been reported the vegan US population is around 6-percent, which means there are about 16,000 vegans living in SLO County, (Not including visitors, vegetarians, and those with dairy, egg and meat allergies.)
If each spends $100 per month eating out, that’s approximately $19.2 Million in revenue each year that local vegans contribute to the county’s restaurant economy.
However, we estimate that up to 25-percent of SLO County is currently eating a plant based diet based on the number of millennials, environmentalists, and health conscious individuals choosing to reside here. According to our Instagram statistics as of publishing, 31-percent of our followers live in the city of San Luis Obispo.
